Cookie Policy
Effective date: 15 October 2026·
1. About this policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Africa Energy Investment Corporation (AEICORP), Société Africaine d’Investissement en Énergie (“AEICORP”, “we”, “us” or “our”), uses cookies and similar technologies on the Africa Energies Report website at africaenergiesreport.com (the “Website”) and the Africa Energies Report data platform at app.africaenergiesreport.com, including any staging or mirror address (the “App”). The Website and the App are together the “Services”.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally, and our Terms and Conditions.
2. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device when you visit it. Cookies allow a site to recognise your device, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used.
We also use similar technologies, which this policy refers to collectively as “cookies”:
- Local storage and session storage: data held in your browser to remember settings such as language, dashboard filters and display preferences.
- Pixels and web beacons: small graphics embedded in pages or emails that tell us whether a page was viewed or an email was opened.
- SDKs and scripts: code from service providers that supports functions such as analytics, payment and security.
Cookies may be first-party (set by the Services) or third-party (set by another organisation whose features we use). They may be session cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or persistent cookies, which remain until they expire or you delete them.
3. How we use cookies
We group cookies into four categories. Only strictly necessary cookies are set without your consent. All other categories are switched off until you opt in through our cookie banner or preference centre, and you can change your choice at any time.

Where a third party sets a cookie, that provider’s own privacy and cookie policy also applies. We choose providers that commit to appropriate data protection safeguards.
5. Embedded content and social media
Some pages include content or links from other services, such as video players, maps or social media buttons for LinkedIn, X, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. If embedded content loads from another service, that service may set its own cookies. We load such content only after you consent to the relevant category, or show a placeholder you can click to load it.
6. Cookies in our emails
Our newsletters and sector email alerts may contain pixels that tell us whether an email was opened and which links were clicked. We use this to improve the relevance of our communications. You can stop this by setting your email client to block images, or by unsubscribing using the link in every email.
7. Managing your choices
Our cookie banner and preference centre. When you first visit the Services, a banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies or choose by category. “Reject all” is as easy as “Accept all”. You can reopen your preferences at any time through the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.
Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, delete and block cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent parts of the Services, such as signing in and checkout, from working. Guidance is available from your browser’s help pages.
Global privacy signals. Where your browser sends a recognised opt-out signal such as Global Privacy Control, we treat it as a rejection of non-essential cookies for that browser.
Analytics opt-out. Some analytics providers offer their own opt-out tools. Details will be listed here alongside the provider once confirmed.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the tools we use or when the law changes. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, where changes are significant, ask for your consent again.
